A Message from our Chairman
Dear Partner,
As the 2009 WIBC Radiothon Chairman, I wanted to share with you why I’m teaming up with The Salvation Army this Christmas and how you can help meet the needs of those struggling right here in Indiana.
The Salvation Army has seen a 40% increase in the numbers of men, women and children requesting food, housing and utility assistance since 2007. And, due to increases in job loss, many of those families are seeking help for the first time. This summer’s homelessness reports show that 78% of our city’s homeless are now families with children!
It’s a tough time for our economy – for those in need and those who want to help. That’s why it’s so important for us to come together to give what we can so we collect the funds necessary to help The Salvation Army provide resources and programs to those who need it most.
Radiothon offers three days, three ways, for us to work together to make a difference in our community. This December 11-13, WIBC 93.1FM personalities will donate their on-air programming to share the stories of the men, women and children whose lives have been changed through the generosity of our individual and corporate partners. Your sponsorship can help end homelessness for the 2,300 kids who spend their nights on the streets of Indianapolis, support programs for at-risk inner city children and help provide emergency services during natural disasters like this year’s flooding. And the great benefit to this event being part of a campaign that ends January 31, 2010, is that partners can commit to a sponsorship now and fulfill that pledge with next year’s corporate giving budget.
Will you join with me in supporting The Salvation Army at Radiothon this December? We are donating Pacers game tickets and prize packages to encourage listeners to call and support the amazing work being done in our community. Together, we can help those struggling right here in Indiana.
Sincerely,

Quinn Buckner
Vice President of Communications, Pacers Sports & Entertainment
2008 & 2009 WIBC Radiothon Chairman
